Early life

Carsten Jens Maschmeyer was born in Bremen in 1959 and grew in Hildesheim in a simple state. As a teenager, he is a young youth champion in the medium and long term. In 1978 he graduated from high school and became a soldier in Bundeswehr for two years. There he worked as a backup officer for medical services. In order to finance the next medical study in Hanover, he worked at the same time as his studies in sales at the OVB Financial Consultant Company Vermögensberatung, before devoting himself full time for financial advice in 1982.

Career

At OVB Vermögensberatung he rose to the position of regional director at a very young age. He worked at OVB until 1987. In 1988 Carsten Maschmeyer established independent financial suggestions for private households by joining DM 900,000 in the AWD financial group (general business services). The purpose of the company is to provide advice and act independently of banks and insurance companies. He took over the majority and company management. AWD managed to enter the Stock Exchange in 2000. Problem prices are EUR 54 per share, which produces results around EUR 500 million. The company rises in M-DAX and expanded to be eleven countries. His company grew rapidly and became the largest independent financial consulting service in Europe. Active companies in Austria, Switzerland, United Kingdom and Central and East Europe, among others. In 2007, Swiss Life, the largest Swiss life insurance company, bought the entire company for CHF 1.9 billion. During the takeover, the Maschmeyer family also sold their shares in Swiss life. Maschmeyer became the coo CEO of Swiss life in 2008. In 2009 Maschmeyer left the AWD council and changed to the Swiss Life Council until 2001. In 2010, entrepreneurs, together with former corrupted economists, who advised Maschmeyerrürub, who advised insurance companies, banks and the government about retirement and health care. Rürüp went in 2013 and the company was liquidated. With the alternative strategic investment of GMBH (Alstin), he invested in companies from various industries. Maschmeyer is an honorary senator from Leibniz Universität Hannover and freelance lecturers at the International Management School in Munich. Maschmeyer finances scholarships in both institutions.

Career highlights

In a recent study of the fastest start-up developed in Germany, his personal equity fund was the only one in the top 10 who had invested in two companies. Maschmeyer ranks 112 in the list of 500 richest German people. Maschmeyer has become one of the judges and investors since the third season of the VOX television program “Die Höhle Der Löwen” in 2016. In 2012 Maschmeyer launched his book “Selfmade – Living Success” in the German book market. The second book “Formula Millionaires – The road to financial independence was” followed in 2016.
