A huge study found most weight loss supplements are probably useless

If you aim to lose weight, have a small fortune on weighing loss supplements and herbs will probably not help you. This is based on a new analysis of 121 randomized studies in the last 16 years, which have found that there is currently no evidence to justify the use of these products for weight loss purposes.

The results come from two new studies that are planned for the presentation at the European Congress on Obesity. The work involved a revision of placebo’s randomized studies totaling nearly 10,000 adult participants, concluding that these products on the simple herbal counter are “inefficient for weight loss”.

Unlike prescription drugs, these over-the-counter products are often sold as supplements censably capable of helping weight loss, but without any kind of evaluation to determine if they are effective. These can include supplements with elements such as green tea, tropical fruits, Ephedra, Garcinia Cambogia, Yerba Mate, white kidney bean, licorice root, etc.

Although some of the compounds and preparations have resulted in significant weight loss (but not clinically), all the research has not found evidence that these supplements are an effective way to lose weight – and researchers point out, Some of these herbs can have long-term health considerations that have not been explored.

Herbal and food supplements may seem like a quick resolution solution for weight problems, but people need to be aware of the sentence we really know about them. Very few high quality studies have been done on certain supplements with little data on long-term efficiency. In addition, many tests are small and poorly designed, and some do not report on the composition of the surcharges studied. The enormous growth of the industry and the popularity of these products highlights the urgency of conducting more stringent studies to have reasonable assurance of their safety and efficiency in weight loss.
