Xiaomi has officially skipped on the foldable phone train this year and at least at least first, looks a lot like Samsung and, later Huawei had already had. Xiaomi apparently targeted the recognition of the mark as the features. That said, the Xiaomi Mix Folf is finally obtained a feature that gives it a unique feature. Ironically, this new PC mode that turns the phone into a tablet PC is something that the Samsung Galaxy Z has no being the creator of the similar dex mode.
To be clear, the Galaxy fold and the Galaxy Z have a Dex support, but they behave more like phones rather than tablets. It only activates if an external display is connected and can not be activated on the foldable phone, even with its big screen. Samsung high-end Galaxy Tabs tablets, on the other hand, can use Dex directly, turn slates into Android laptops.
According to XDA, the MI MIX fold got an update that allows PC mode for foldable. Unlike Samsung’s implementation for Galaxy Z Fold, it works directly on the device, even without an external screen attached. A three-fingered scan of the right edge in the center activates PC mode, preventing any accidental trigger.
Once in PC mode, the MI MIX fold owners are welcomed with a familiar desktop user interface, saving for some android-specific keys, such as the three navigation buttons in the corner. As with Samsung Dex, however, some applications are simply not done to work this way and can appear in their high phone forms rather than a tablet mode
This is definitely a feature that the Galaxy Z Folf 3 needs and Samsung is likely to add it now that Xiaomi has done it too. That said, Galaxy Z and MIX Z Mix screens are located on the smaller side for a desktop interface and can be better adapted to the Rumore Galaxy Z Plif Tab tablet.
